A poem – grass

I watch the day turn

with the fascination of a new born eye

among hundreds of thousands of blades of grass

taking delight in the senses

my bare feet on the cool, dark earth

absorbing the purifying rays

my bare skin in the glistening sunshine

my open ears, listening to the dance of insects and birds

as the shadows stretch longer,

and the sun gets lower

my life stands still

as it should

and the world, in her dance

turns around me
